Hyderabad is reeling from a heartbreaking incident after a 20-year-old engineering student tragically died in a hit-and-run accident this Tuesday morning in Hayatnagar.
The victim has been identified as Yamna Ahmed, a first-year student pursuing her education at GITAM University.
The devastating incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. as Yamna was crossing the road near Krishnaveni Hospital, on her routine commute to college. According to Hayatnagar Inspector P. Nagaraju Goud, an unidentified vehicle, traveling from Abdullapurmet towards LB Nagar, struck her, causing her to fall onto the road.
Bystanders quickly intervened, rushing her to a nearby hospital for immediate first-aid. She was then transferred to another private hospital for more extensive treatment, but tragically, she succumbed to her injuries en route, around 8:30 a.m.
Authorities at the Hayatnagar police station have registered a case and launched a full investigation to identify the vehicle and driver responsible for this fatal accident.
