Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently declared that the people of Bihar have firmly decided to secure an unprecedented victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming elections. He confidently predicted that those associated with ‘jungle raj’ would face their most significant defeat in the state’s electoral history.
Addressing various rallies across Bihar, Mr. Modi noted a consistent pattern: each rally surpassed the previous one in attendance, with a remarkable number of women participating. He praised the dedication of Bihar BJP women workers, recognizing their exceptional efforts under the banner of ‘Mera Booth, Sabse Mazboot’ (My Booth, Strongest Booth).
The Prime Minister stated, “I’ve been closely observing the elections, and it’s clear the NDA is not just winning, but winning by a huge margin. While I am certain of our victory, I urge everyone to ensure maximum voter turnout.”
During an interaction with a BJP worker who spoke of widespread enthusiasm for the NDA, Mr. Modi affirmed that her sentiments resonated deeply with the aspirations of the poor, Dalits, Maha Dalits, and backward and extremely backward communities across Bihar.
He reiterated his belief that “the people of Bihar are determined to shatter all previous records for the NDA’s scale of victory in the last two decades, while those representing ‘jungle raj’ will experience their most crushing defeat in the state.”
Mr. Modi has consistently used the “jungle raj” phrase to critique the opposition Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance). This term harks back to the period when Bihar was governed by RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi, often associated with a breakdown of law and order.
Concluding his remarks, the Prime Minister emphasized the NDA government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life for women and empowering them through various initiatives.
Bihar is scheduled to hold its elections in two phases on November 6 and 11, with vote counting set for November 14. The INDIA opposition bloc has put forward Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial candidate for these polls.
