In a monumental stride for India’s space exploration, the country has successfully launched its heaviest satellite to date, the naval CMS-03, into orbit. The powerful lift-off was carried out by the state-of-the-art LVM3-M5 rocket, affectionately nicknamed ‘Bahubali’ for its robust capabilities.

Following the awe-inspiring liftoff, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) released captivating videos showcasing the ascent from the launch pad and stunning views captured by the on-board cameras. The 4,410 kg CMS-03 satellite was precisely injected into its Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) after a successful separation of the S200 solid rocket boosters and the L110 liquid core stage.
This mission highlights India’s growing self-reliance in space technology, with the CMS-03 satellite designed to provide crucial communication services for at least 15 years. The LVM3 rocket itself has a proven track record, having played a vital role in the Chandrayaan-3 mission, and boasts a remarkable 100% success rate across its eight launches.
