The wedding celebrations for Komal Sharma, sister of Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma, kicked off in Ludhiana with a dazzling pre-wedding function where her brother and his legendary mentor, Yuvraj Singh, set the dance floor alight! The joyous event saw Abhishek showcase his impressive Bhangra moves, grooving alongside popular singer Ranjit Bawa. Former Indian star Yuvraj Singh was also present, adding to the evening’s star power.
This festive occasion comes just before Komal Sharma’s wedding on October 3rd. A delightful video from the social media circuit captured Abhishek’s energetic dance performance, perfectly complemented by Bawa’s vibrant musical renditions.
Abhishek Sharma has much to celebrate beyond family festivities. He recently shone brightly in the Asia Cup 2025, clinching the coveted ‘Player of the Tournament’ award. His journey through the tournament was marked by exceptional batting displays, where he amassed a remarkable 314 runs across seven innings.
The talented opening batsman was in phenomenal form, especially during the Super Four stage. He smashed three consecutive half-centuries, including a powerful 74 against Pakistan, a commanding 75 against Bangladesh, and a stylish 61 against Sri Lanka. His incredible statistics for the tournament boasted an average of 44.85 and a blistering strike rate of 200 across all seven innings. For his stellar contribution, he was not only honored with the ‘Player of the Tournament’ title but also received a brand-new car as a reward.
Reflecting on his outstanding achievement, Abhishek shared, “Receiving a car is always a joy. Honestly, breaking into this team after winning the World Cup wasn’t easy for any opener. But our strategy was clear: play with conviction and intent from the very first ball.” He emphasized the importance of teamwork and guidance, adding, “That was my goal, and I worked incredibly hard on it. When you play this aggressively, you truly need unwavering support from your coach and captain, which I was fortunate to receive consistently throughout the tournament, and even before.”
