India’s ODI captain, Rohit Sharma, is set to make a much-anticipated return to international cricket next month, and fans are already buzzing about his impressive physical transformation. He recently showcased a remarkable 10-kilogram weight loss, sparking excitement across the cricketing world.

This stunning new look was first revealed by former India batting coach and close friend Abhishek Nayar, who shared a glimpse of Rohit during a training session in Mumbai with the caption, “10,000 grams later, we keep pushing.”

The 38-year-old star is expected to be back in action on October 19, when India kicks off their three-match ODI series against Australia. Rohit last played for India in the Champions Trophy final in Dubai earlier this year and has dedicated the intervening months to rigorous preparation for his return to the field.
Interestingly, earlier plans for both Rohit and Virat Kohli to participate in India A’s three 50-over matches against Australia A in Kanpur did not come to fruition, as neither player was included in the squad. Both veteran batsmen had previously announced their retirement from T20 internationals last June, following India’s T20 World Cup victory in Barbados, and stepped away from Test cricket in May, just before India’s tour of England.
Both Rohit and Kohli have successfully completed their mandatory pre-season fitness tests. Rohit underwent his training at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, focusing on extending his sessions to be in peak condition for the upcoming ODI series. Kohli, who has since moved to London after the IPL 2025 season, completed his fitness assessments there.
With India’s first ODI against Australia just weeks away, all eyes will be on Rohit Sharma’s form and fitness as he prepares to lead the team in the highly anticipated series, beginning October 19.
