NEW DELHI: In a significant cricketing milestone, both Nepal and Oman have successfully secured their berths in the much-anticipated 2026 T20 World Cup. This prestigious tournament is slated to be co-hosted by cricket powerhouses India and Sri Lanka.

Their qualification from the Asia-EAP Qualifier was confirmed ahead of their Super Six showdown in Al Amerat. The pathway for Nepal and Oman was cleared following the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) decisive 77-run victory over Samoa.
This result placed the UAE in third position on the Super Six points table with four points, consequently elevating Nepal and Oman to the top two spots. Both teams are currently leading the standings, separated only by their net run rate, a testament to their closely contested performances throughout the tournament.
An additional third team from this qualifier event will also earn a place in next year’s World Cup, adding further intensity to the remaining matches as teams vie for the final coveted spot.
