A massive healthcare outreach program recently brought advanced medical services directly to the community in Chittoor. On Saturday, a mega health camp was inaugurated at PVKN College by District Collector Sumit Kumar and Chittoor MP Daggumalla Prasada Rao, providing vital care to thousands.
MP Prasada Rao emphasized that this initiative is designed to offer high-quality medical attention to underprivileged patients who might otherwise struggle to afford treatment at private hospitals. The camp saw dedicated doctors from the renowned Rainbow Eye Foundation and Aravind Eye Hospital lend their expertise. A wide array of specialists were on hand, including orthopaedicians, neurologists, gynaecologists, ophthalmologists, cardiologists, general physicians, and skilled technicians for ECG and ultrasound diagnostics, ensuring comprehensive care.
District Collector Sumit Kumar highlighted the impressive volunteer effort, noting that leading medical professionals from Bengaluru and Hyderabad generously contributed their services to benefit local residents. Thanks to these efforts, more than 4,000 individuals from Chittoor town and its surrounding areas were able to access these invaluable free medical services.
Beyond general consultations, patients received specialized treatment for various conditions, including cardiac, neurological, and ophthalmic ailments. Crucially, free screenings for blood pressure and diabetes were provided, along with complimentary medicines, making a significant impact on public health.
