Indian opener Smriti Mandhana has firmly established herself as the world’s leading batter in the ICC Women’s ODI rankings, extending her impressive lead by 83 points. This surge comes after her back-to-back half-centuries in the ongoing ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, highlighted by a superb 88-run knock against England in Indore.
England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt maintains a strong grip on the second spot, having amassed 191 runs throughout the tournament. Mandhana’s exceptional form also saw her recognized as the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for September 2025, thanks to her outstanding contributions in the ODI series against Australia.
Australian captain Alyssa Healy has climbed to share the third position, bolstered by her consecutive centuries in the World Cup. South African Tazmin Brits has also made notable progress, moving up one place to ninth in the rankings.
Several other players have seen significant movement outside the top 10. India’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, has advanced three spots to 15th, while Australian opener Phoebe Litchfield is now 17th after moving up five places. England’s Heather Knight has made a substantial leap of 15 positions to reach 18th.
In the bowling rankings, England’s spinner Sophie Ecclestone continues to hold her dominant position at the top. India’s Deepti Sharma has significantly improved her standing, rising three places to third after an impressive haul of 13 wickets in just five World Cup matches.
Australian spinner Alana King has also moved up two spots to seventh in the bowling charts. Pakistani bowlers have shown strong performances, with Nashra Sundhu climbing three places to 11th, Sadia Iqbal advancing five spots to share 14th position, and Fatima Sana moving up five places to 24th.
In the all-rounders’ category, Australia’s Ash Gardner leads the rankings. Fatima Sana has improved her position by five places to reach 15th, while Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu has moved up one spot to seventh place.
This latest update to the rankings clearly reflects the strong individual performances of players currently participating in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, with numerous athletes making significant advancements across batting, bowling, and all-rounder categories.
