Indian left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh may have missed the third One-Day International against Australia in Sydney, but he certainly kept spirits high off the field. The day after India’s impressive nine-wicket victory at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Arshdeep shared a playful video on Instagram that had fans and teammates alike laughing out loud.
In the short clip, Arshdeep is seen joking around with his international teammate, Axar Patel, while in Australia. Turning the camera towards a convoy of trucks passing by, he quipped, “Axar bhai, accha hua cricket mein kuch ban gaye, nahi toh yeh kaar rahe hote hum.” (Axar bro, good thing we made something of ourselves in cricket — otherwise, this is what we’d be doing!) The video, captioned ‘Truckaaan vaale’, instantly went viral, garnering widespread appreciation for its amusing banter.
The reel, which quickly racked up thousands of likes and comments, highlighted the 26-year-old pacer’s easygoing personality and sharp sense of humor. This charming side has undoubtedly helped cement his status as a fan favorite since his international debut.
Arshdeep was given a rest for the third ODI, as India opted to make two changes to their lineup. Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna stepped in for the injured Nitish Kumar Reddy and Arshdeep, respectively.
Meanwhile, India delivered a clinical performance in Sydney, successfully avoiding a series whitewash. Harshit Rana was a standout with the ball, claiming an impressive four-wicket haul (4/39) as Australia was bowled out for 236. In response, captain Rohit Sharma’s magnificent unbeaten 121 and Virat Kohli’s elegant 74 not out propelled India to a dominant victory in just 38.3 overs.
Despite India losing the series 1-2, Arshdeep’s entertaining off-field antics provided a refreshing dose of fun, proving that even when he’s not actively playing, this pacer still knows how to deliver a memorable hit.
