The vibrant city of Bhubaneswar, nestled in Odisha, is gearing up to host the eagerly anticipated Asian Table Tennis Team Championships. This premier sporting event will unfold at the state-of-the-art Kalinga Stadium from October 11 to 15, marking a significant milestone as Odisha welcomes this championship for the very first time.
Bringing together a stellar lineup of talent, the championships will feature athletes from 22 nations across Asia. Esteemed participating countries include table tennis powerhouses such as China, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, and Singapore, alongside teams from Macau-China, Bangladesh, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Malaysia, all vying for continental supremacy.
Beyond the glory of the Asian title, the stakes are exceptionally high. The top-performing teams at this event will secure coveted berths for the 2026 World Championships, an international spectacle slated to take place in London. This adds an extra layer of intensity and competition to every match played in Bhubaneswar.
Adding to the city’s bustling sports calendar, the Kalinga Stadium will also concurrently host two other major events: the National Junior Athletics Championships, running from October 10 to 14, and the ITF Masters 100 tournament, held parallel to the table tennis action from October 11 to 15. This makes for a truly exciting week of diverse athletic contests.
