The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced a reshuffle within the Men’s Senior Selection Committee, bringing in new talent to shape the future of Indian cricket. During its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on Sunday, former India cricketers RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha were confirmed as the latest additions to the five-member panel.

This significant move sees them joining the experienced ranks of Chairperson Ajit Agarkar, Shiv Sundar Das, and Ajay Ratra. Their inclusion is anticipated to inject fresh perspectives and a deeper understanding of contemporary cricket dynamics and the modern dressing-room environment.

RP Singh, a left-arm pacer renowned for his ability to swing the ball, proudly represented India in 14 Test matches, 58 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 10 T20 Internationals. He played a pivotal role in India’s historic 2007 T20 World Cup victory. Similarly, Pragyan Ojha, a skillful left-arm spinner, made his mark in 24 Tests, 18 ODIs, and 6 T20Is, contributing to many memorable triumphs under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.

In other important decisions made at the AGM, S. Sharath, previously a member of the senior selection panel since 2023, has taken on the crucial role of chairman for the junior selection committee. His new responsibility involves overseeing the development and nurturing of India’s budding cricket talent.

The AGM also marked the election of former Delhi captain Mithun Manhas as the 37th President of the BCCI, stepping into the shoes of Roger Binny. Additionally, Amita Sharma was appointed as the chairperson of the women’s selection committee, highlighting further key leadership changes in Indian cricket administration.
