Former India head coach Rahul Dravid recently pulled back the curtain on some fascinating locker room secrets, revealing his favorite Punjabi music artists and who keeps the team grooving. During an appearance on ‘Breakfast With Champions,’ Dravid enthusiastically named Shubh as a highly popular singer whose tracks are constantly buzzing among the players.
He also spoke warmly of the late Sidhu Moosewala, noting that many of his songs were personal favorites of Dravid himself and were frequently played by the team in the dressing room.
When asked about Team India’s resident DJ, Dravid playfully chuckled, mentioning how everyone mostly sticks to headphones these days. However, he specifically praised Rishabh Pant and Arshdeep Singh for their excellent musical selections, especially when it comes to tunes played on the team’s boombox.
Beyond music, Dravid highlighted Hardik Pandya’s fun-loving personality and surprisingly revealed that Virat Kohli is an exceptionally talented mimic. Although Kohli doesn’t often showcase this skill publicly anymore, Dravid confirmed his ‘phenomenal’ ability to imitate others.
Finally, Dravid touched upon his own Hindi speaking skills, playfully asserting, “My Hindi was good even earlier, it’s not like that. Don’t say that just because I’m from Bangalore, I don’t know Hindi.” He then humorously added, “There’s definitely been an improvement in Punjabi music!”, linking his language journey to the team’s vibrant musical tastes.
