Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his heartfelt Diwali wishes with the nation, reflecting on India’s ongoing journey of development, unity, and resilience. He emphasized that the spirit of Diwali signifies light and collective strength, drawing attention to recent national achievements such as the eradication of Naxalism in several districts and the successful execution of “Operation Sindoor.” The Prime Minister encouraged all citizens to actively contribute to building a developed and self-reliant India (“Viksit” and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat”).
He also urged the public to embrace local products (“Swadeshi”), maintain cleanliness, practice yoga, and foster the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India). PM Modi stated that even small individual efforts play a crucial role in paving India’s path towards becoming a global beacon of stability and progress.
PM Modi’s Diwali Letter to Citizens
Dear fellow citizens,
I extend my warm greetings to you all on the auspicious occasion of Deepavali, a festival full of joy and enthusiasm. This marks our second Deepavali since the magnificent consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Lord Shri Ram embodies righteousness and inspires us with the courage to combat injustice. We witnessed a powerful example of this recently during Operation Sindoor, where India not only upheld righteousness but also avenged injustice.
This Deepavali is particularly special as many districts across the country, including remote areas, will be lighting lamps for the first time. These are the very districts where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been completely eradicated. It’s heartening to see many individuals choosing to leave behind the path of violence and join the mainstream of development, placing their faith in our Constitution. This is a significant achievement for our nation.
Alongside these historic milestones, India has recently embraced next-generation reforms. The reduction in GST rates on the first day of Navratri signifies a “GST Bachat Utsav” (GST Savings Festival), benefiting citizens with savings running into thousands of crores.
In a world facing numerous challenges, India stands out as a symbol of both stability and compassion. We are also steadily progressing towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy in the near future.
As we continue on this path towards a “Viksit” (Developed) and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India), our foremost responsibility as citizens is to fulfill our duties towards the nation.
Let’s champion “Swadeshi” (local products) and declare with pride: “This is Swadeshi!” Let’s embody the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.” Let us cherish all languages, maintain cleanliness, and prioritize our health. Simple actions like reducing oil consumption in our meals by 10% and embracing Yoga can accelerate our journey towards a “Viksit Bharat.”
Deepavali teaches us that sharing light only multiplies it. Let us, in the same spirit, illuminate our society and surroundings with harmony, cooperation, and positivity this festive season.
Wishing you all a very Happy Deepavali once again.
