Controversial YouTuber A. Shankar, widely known as ‘Savukku’ Shankar, has formally petitioned the Director-General of Police G. Venkatraman in Chennai, urgently requesting armed police protection. Shankar stated in his plea on Wednesday that he faces significant threats to his life from two senior IPS (Indian Police Service) officers and various anti-social elements.
He asserted that these alleged threats are a direct consequence of his recent online exposés, where he claims to have revealed alleged wrongdoings by the two police officers. Consequently, he believes these officers have developed a strong personal vendetta against him. Shankar’s petition not only requests immediate security but also calls for a swift and unbiased investigation into the conduct of the implicated officers.
