Addressing party loyalists on the 19th death anniversary of BSP founder Kanshi Ram, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati issued a compelling call to action. She implored party workers nationwide to channel the same unwavering dedication and support they have historically shown her towards her nephew and national coordinator, Akash Anand. Mayawati lauded Anand’s tireless commitment to expanding the party’s influence across India.
Speaking at the Lucknow rally, Mayawati specifically praised Akash Anand’s deep immersion in the BSP’s core mission. She highlighted his dedicated efforts, undertaken under her direct guidance, to robustly strengthen the party’s organizational structure and broaden its outreach, noting that these initiatives have already ignited considerable enthusiasm among the dedicated party cadre.
“Just as the Bahujan Samaj Party members across the country stood firmly with me during and after Kanshi Ram ji’s lifetime, they should now also stand with Akash in every situation and extend their full support,” Mayawati asserted, drawing a parallel between her own political journey and the path she envisions for her nephew.
This emphatic endorsement follows a period of internal adjustments within the party. While Mayawati had previously named Anand as her political successor, she later removed him from key positions citing alleged indiscipline. However, he has since been reinstated, with Mayawati publicly clarifying her stance that she will not officially declare any successor during her lifetime.
Concluding her address, Mayawati also extended her appreciation to other senior party leaders, including Akash’s father and BSP national vice president Anand Kumar, national general secretary Satish Chandra Misra, and Uttar Pradesh unit president Vishwanath Pal, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to fortifying the party.
