Elaine Hendrix, a participant on Dancing With The Stars (DWTS), and her professional dance partner, Alan Bersten, were absent from the Halloween Night episode due to an injury Hendrix sustained last week. On Monday’s broadcast, a video message from Hendrix, filmed in her hospital bed, was shown to the audience.
Despite missing the Halloween-themed performance, DWTS confirmed that Hendrix is still a competitor and is expected to rejoin the show soon.
Sharing her disappointment on Instagram, Hendrix wrote, “Halloween is my favorite, and I’m devastated. I was beyond excited to share what we had worked so hard on, although you’ll see a version of it. With your support, I’ll be back in the ballroom next week. I want nothing more.”
What Happened to Elaine Hendrix? When Can She Return?
Hendrix explained in her video message that the injury occurred during her “Defying Gravity” performance last week. She reportedly took a blow to her ribs, but it wasn’t initially considered severe, and she had planned to dance this week.
However, on Tuesday morning before the show, the injury “seized up.” Hendrix shared that her doctor advised her to rest for a “day or two” before resuming dancing activities.
Visibly emotional, Hendrix stated, “I want to dance. I want to keep doing this.”
This is a developing story.
