The cricketing landscape in Karnataka is buzzing with significant developments as veteran India batter Karun Nair makes his much-anticipated return to the state’s Ranji Trophy squad. After a two-season stint with Vidarbha, where he was instrumental in their Ranji Trophy victory last year, Nair is set to don Karnataka colors once more. His inclusion comes ahead of the Ranji Trophy opener against Saurashtra, scheduled to begin in Rajkot on October 15.
Mayank Agarwal will continue to lead the Karnataka Ranji Trophy side, which also welcomes promising new talents such as Kruthik Krishna, Shikhar Shetty, and Mohsin Khan.
Adding another layer of excitement, Anvay Dravid, the son of legendary former India captain Rahul Dravid, has been named captain of Karnataka’s squad for the upcoming Vinoo Mankad Trophy. This prestigious tournament will take place in Dehradun from October 9 to 17. Anvay, who proved to be the top-scorer for the state in the previous edition, is expected to be a pivotal player at the top of the batting order, steering his team with youthful leadership.
