YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has publicly welcomed the High Court’s proactive directive to transfer the case concerning the arrest of the party’s social media activist, Kunchala Savindra Reddy, to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that the court’s decision shed light on the alarming political climate in Andhra Pradesh. He accused the police, operating under the command of the TDP-led coalition government, of systematically suppressing dissent and restricting free speech, often in defiance of various judicial pronouncements. He emphasized that the filing of fabricated cases, illegal arrests, and the misuse of Section 111 of the Criminal Procedure Code have become disturbingly routine practices in the state.
