The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLC Monditoka Arun Kumar has sharply criticized the NDA coalition government in Andhra Pradesh, accusing it of deliberately misleading the public and failing to tackle pressing issues during the recent eight-day Assembly and Legislative Council sessions.
During a press conference at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli on Sunday, Dr. Arun Kumar stated that the Opposition effectively represented the concerns of the people by highlighting the government’s inefficiencies and inconsistencies in its policies. He specifically alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was using “blatant lies” to conceal the administration’s shortcomings.
Dr. Arun Kumar drew attention to the severe struggles faced by farmers, who are grappling with urea shortages, inadequate remunerative prices for their produce, and escalating debts. He contrasted this grim reality with the government’s assertion that farmers were “happy.” He also expressed strong disapproval of the proposed privatization of government medical colleges, viewing it as an attempt to transfer public resources into private hands. He reminded everyone that the previous YSRCP administration had established 17 new medical colleges, underscoring their commitment to public health education.
Furthermore, the MLC lambasted the government for what he termed its insincere approach to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant issue and for presenting conflicting figures regarding state debt. He also criticized ruling party members for using abusive language within the legislature, which he felt undermined its decorum. Despite these provocations, Dr. Arun Kumar emphasized that the YSRCP remained steadfast in advocating for the voice of the people.
