Messages of concern and support have been flooding social media following Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut’s announcement that he is stepping away from public life due to a “serious health issue.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes for a speedy recovery to Raut on Friday.
Raut, a prominent figure in the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction, shared on Friday that he has been advised to limit public interactions while undergoing treatment. He expressed optimism about his recovery, stating on X, “You have all loved and trusted me. But I have developed serious health issues and am undergoing treatment. I will come out of this,” adding that he hopes to be in good health by next year. He also mentioned, “As per medical advice, I have been asked not to step out or mingle in public.”
PM Modi’s Message of Support
Responding to Raut’s announcement, Prime Minister Modi posted on X, “Praying for your speedy recovery and good health, Sanjay Raut Ji.” Raut expressed his gratitude in return, saying, “Respected Prime Minister Ji, thank you! My family is grateful to you! Jai Hind! Jai Maharashtra!”
Widespread Wishes for Recovery
Messages of support have poured in from across the political spectrum. Jitendra Awhad, a former Maharashtra housing minister, commented on the seriousness of Raut’s condition, stating, “Mr. Raut is a fighter leader. There is confidence that he will soon make a strong comeback. Wishing him excellent and robust health, and that his condition improves at the earliest..”
Rajani Patil, AICC in-charge for Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, noted the sudden deterioration of Raut’s health, expressing her wishes for his swift return to public and political life.
Rais Shaikh, MLA from Bhiwandi (East), also conveyed his prayers for Raut’s quick recovery, wishing him renewed energy and continued service to Maharashtra and its people.
