The Meppadi grama panchayat in Wayanad district has formally issued a notice to the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) concerning building rule violations in the housing project intended for survivors of the devastating Mudakkai landslide. This critical rehabilitation effort is now under scrutiny for compliance issues.
The notice was specifically addressed to Syed Sadik Ali Shihab Thangal, who serves as the State president of the IUML. It mandates that he provide a comprehensive explanation within one week regarding the alleged infractions of local building regulations.
In response, the IUML has stated that the notice is merely a procedural formality. They assert that the party had already provided adequate explanations and secured the necessary permits prior to the commencement of construction.
