‘Dollars’ C. Divakar Reddy, Chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA), has put forward comprehensive proposals aimed at ensuring the harmonious and meticulously planned expansion of the revered temple city of Tirupati.
During the inauguration of a new multipurpose community hall and shopping complex — developed by the Sri Venkateswara University Teachers’ Cooperative House Building Society Limited in Nalanda Nagar this past Sunday — Chairman Reddy actively engaged with local residents. He paid close attention to their pressing civic concerns, with a particular focus on the persistent challenges related to drainage. He offered a firm assurance that a dedicated drainage canal would be constructed to effectively tackle water stagnation and significantly enhance overall sanitation in the area.
Adding to the discussions, SVIMS Director and Vice-Chancellor R.V. Kumar underscored the urgent necessity for a new, modern auditorium at SVIMS. Such a facility, he explained, is vital to support the institution’s expanding academic and cultural calendar. The event was gracefully presided over by A. Sambasiva Reddy, president of the society. Notable attendees also included secretary M. Bhupathi Naidu, secretary P. Rajasekhar Reddy, Y. Raghava Reddy (retired Senior Medical Officer from SVU), N. Satyanarayana Raju (Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan), and P. Mohan Reddy (retired MCT Commissioner).
