On Monday, the revered chief pontiff of the distinguished Vanamamalai Mutt, His Holiness Srimath Paramahamsethyanthi Madhurakavi Jeeyar, visited the sacred Lord Venkateswara temple to offer his prayers.
During his visit, he was extended the traditional ‘Pedda Maryadai’ honors by TTD Executive Officer Anilkumar Singhal and the temple priests. This special recognition is typically reserved for the heads of prominent Hindu religious institutions.
A significant part of this ritual involved the ceremonial bringing out of the sacred ‘Satari’ in a palanquin. Normally kept within the temple’s inner sanctum, the ‘Satari’ was used to reverently escort the seer into the shrine.
