Due to the impending arrival of Cyclone Montha, all government and private schools in Nagarkurnool will observe a holiday on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Additionally, the Summative Assessment (SA)-II examinations originally scheduled for today have been postponed. District Education Officer A. Ramesh Kumar confirmed that new dates for these exams will be announced soon.
District Collector Badavath Santhosh has been diligently overseeing the cyclone’s potential impact on the region since morning, issuing vital directives to various departments. A key concern is safeguarding farmers’ produce; he stressed the importance of protecting paddy stored at procurement centers and grains laid out for drying from the heavy rains.

Mr. Santhosh instructed officials to distribute tarpaulin sheets to farmers and ensure they are well-informed about the cyclone’s expected effects. He also urged the immediate unloading of agricultural produce transported from procurement centers to mills. Furthermore, a stern warning was issued to fishers, advising them against venturing into rivers, lakes, ponds, canals, and reservoirs for any activity, as significant flooding is anticipated over the next 72 hours due to the relentless rainfall.
