On Sunday, October 19, 2025, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat asserted that ancient Indians journeyed across the globe, sharing their rich culture and scientific knowledge, but never with the intent to conquer or convert.
During the launch of the Arya Yug Vishay Kosh encyclopedia, Mr. Bhagwat highlighted a stark difference between ancient Indian practices and those of various invaders throughout history. He remarked that while many invaders plundered and subjugated India, the most recent ones inflicted a deeper wound by “looting the minds” of its people.
“Our ancestors,” Mr. Bhagwat explained, “traveled from Mexico to Siberia, imparting science and culture to the world. They neither sought to convert anyone nor to conquer. Instead, they carried a spirit of sadhbhavna, or goodwill, and a powerful message of unity.”
He lamented, “Numerous invaders arrived, pillaged our land, and enslaved us. The most recent among them, however, went further, pilfering our very minds. This left us forgetting our inherent strengths and the valuable contributions we could offer the world.”
Concluding his remarks, Mr. Bhagwat affirmed, “Today, spiritual knowledge continues to thrive, and we, as descendants of Aryavrat, possess not only science and the means of defense but also inner strength, outward power, unwavering faith, and profound wisdom.”
