Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism, Suresh Gopi, clarified his position on the establishment of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kerala on Friday. He firmly stated that his viewpoint on this crucial medical institution has remained consistent since 2016, underscoring that there has been no shift in his long-held opinion.
Addressing reporters, the Minister asserted, “I have conveyed what I needed to. My stance is singular and unwavering. It echoes precisely what I articulated back in 2016.”
This renewed declaration follows recent comments by Minister Gopi advocating for AIIMS to be located in the Alappuzha district. These remarks had sparked some debate, with various party leaders interpreting them as his “personal view” and emphasizing that the final decision on the AIIMS location within Kerala rests with the central government.
