On October 1, 2025, Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu virtually inaugurated the highly anticipated Rajahmundry-Tirupati flight service. This new route, operated by Alliance Airlines, will run three times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—offering increased convenience for travelers.
Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh was present on the ground at Rajahmundry airport to officially flag off the inaugural flight. The schedule for the new service is designed for early morning departures: the flight will depart Tirupati at 7:40 a.m., arriving in Rajahmundry at 9:25 a.m. The return journey will see it take off from Rajahmundry at 9:50 a.m., reaching Tirupati by 11:20 a.m.
During his virtual address to officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and local public representatives, Mr. Rammohan Naidu confirmed his commitment to addressing the public’s demand for additional flight connections. He specifically mentioned plans to extend services from Rajahmundry airport to several other significant destinations, including Shirdi, Varanasi, Goa, and Ahmedabad. He also shared positive news regarding the Rajahmundry-Bengaluru route, which currently boasts 100% occupancy, prompting plans for an additional flight on this popular sector.
Minister Naidu reiterated that the consistently full occupancy rates across all existing flights from Rajahmundry clearly indicate a strong and growing demand for air travel in the region, paving the way for future expansions. Among those who joined the virtual inauguration alongside Mr. Rammohan Naidu was Rajamahendravaram Member of Parliament D. Purandeswari. On the ground, Rajamahendravaram Rural MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, Rajamahendravaram city MLA Adireddy Srinivas, and Rajamahendravaram Urban Development Authority Chairman Boddu Venkataramana Chowdary were also in attendance to mark this significant occasion.
