Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, has made a firm promise to address the growing demand for passport services in Karimnagar. He assured the public that the daily passport appointment slots at the local Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) would be substantially increased, effectively doubling the current capacity from 250 to an impressive 500 per day.
This significant announcement came during the inauguration of the PSK’s brand-new premises in Karimnagar on Monday. The event was also attended by Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar, who joined Mr. Sanjay for the ceremony.
During his address, Mr. Sanjay highlighted the origins of the PSK, noting that its services were initially launched in Karimnagar in 2014, a direct result of the persistent efforts by then-Karimnagar MP, Ponnam Prabhakar. The center later received a crucial upgrade, becoming a fully-fledged Passport Seva Kendra in 2022, enhancing its service capabilities.
The Union Minister further took the opportunity to commend J. Snehaja, the Regional Passport Officer for Hyderabad, praising her dedication to ensuring prompt processing and efficient issuance of passports throughout the region.
Ms. Snehaja and other esteemed dignitaries were also present at the inauguration ceremony, marking a positive step towards improving public services.
