A notable event unfolded in Thrissur recently during the BJP’s ‘Vikasana Munnetta Jatha’ (Development March), where celebrated film music composer Ouseppachan and prominent Left-leaning social activist Fakruddin Ali made a striking appearance on stage with BJP State vice-president B. Gopalakrishnan. This unexpected alignment has immediately become a hot topic in political discussions.
Both Ouseppachan and Ali expressed significant appreciation for Gopalakrishnan’s leadership and his commitment to a vision of development. Seizing the moment, the BJP leader extended a public invitation, urging them to consider joining the party and even contending in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Addressing the gathering, Ouseppachan passionately declared, “Bharat is our motherland, and it is imperative that we all stand united for our nation’s prosperity.” He further emphasized the need for collective growth driven by a singular vision, commending Gopalakrishnan as a figure who genuinely strives for the country’s advancement.
Fakruddin Ali, who has historically aligned with Left ideologies, clarified that his presence at the event transcended partisan politics. “I am drawn to and admire good politicians, advocating for positive rather than divisive politics. The overarching idea and vision behind this event, extending beyond party boundaries, is what truly brought me here,” he explained. He praised Gopalakrishnan as a competent leader with a clear developmental agenda, adding, “I also hold high regard for Suresh Gopi’s social contributions, though I believe he himself will address any occasional missteps in his public reactions,” a comment delivered with a lighthearted smile.
Responding to these endorsements, Gopalakrishnan warmly welcomed their potential entry into the BJP. “We actively seek individuals who are dedicated to a progressive vision for development. The doors of the BJP are wide open for both of them,” he affirmed.
This isn’t Ouseppachan’s first encounter with the Sangh Parivar. Last year, he notably presided over an RSS Padasanjalanam program linked to Vijayadashami celebrations at Thrissur’s Thekkinkadu Maidan. On that occasion, he publicly lauded both the RSS and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their unwavering dedication to national values.
With both personalities now openly sharing a platform with senior BJP leaders, this Thrissur gathering has undeniably sparked intense curiosity and discussion within Kerala’s dynamic political landscape, hinting at possible future political realignments.
