A devoted fan of actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, made headlines by acquiring a benefit show ticket for his film, They Call Him OG, for a staggering ₹1,29,999. The record-breaking purchase happened at an auction held at Srinivasa Theatre in Choutuppal, located in the Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district this past Sunday. Amudala Paramesh, from Lakkaram village in Choutupall mandal, showcased his immense admiration for the star through this extraordinary bid.
The auction witnessed an enthusiastic turnout from fans eager to participate. This highly sought-after ticket granted entry to a special benefit screening scheduled for 1 a.m. on September 25, coinciding with the film’s grand release. Interestingly, these benefit show tickets were originally priced at ₹800. All proceeds generated from this remarkable auction are earmarked for donation to the Jana Sena Party (JSP), which is spearheaded by Pawan Kalyan.
The movie, officially titled They Call Him OG (or simply OG), is helmed by director Sujeeth and produced under the banner of DVV Entertainment. Adding to the buzz, the Telangana government recently approved a ticket price hike for the film, with an official order issued on September 19. According to this new directive, a special 9 p.m. show on September 24 will be permitted, with tickets for this screening also priced at ₹800 (inclusive of GST).
Furthermore, from September 25 until October 4, 2025, a temporary increase in ticket prices will be implemented. During this period, single-screen cinemas will be allowed to charge an additional ₹100, while multiplexes can levy an extra ₹150 per ticket.
Following October 4, the ticket prices will revert to their standard rates: ₹177 for single screens and ₹295 for multiplexes.
