United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer is scheduled to visit India starting Wednesday, October 8, 2025. This high-profile visit, extended at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is poised to significantly advance the India-UK relationship.
Building on the positive momentum from Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the UK in July 2025, Starmer’s trip offers a crucial opportunity to reinforce the shared vision of a robust and forward-looking partnership between India and the United Kingdom.
During his visit, Mr. Starmer will spend Thursday, October 9, in Mumbai. Here, the two Prime Ministers will comprehensively review the progress made across various dimensions of the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. These discussions will be guided by ‘Vision 2035’, a focused 10-year roadmap encompassing key areas such as trade and investment, technology and innovation, defense and security, climate and energy, health, education, and people-to-people connections.
Both leaders are also slated to engage with prominent businesses and industry leaders. Their aim will be to explore new avenues and opportunities arising from the India–U.K. Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which is envisioned as a cornerstone of the future economic collaboration. Furthermore, they will exchange perspectives on critical regional and global matters.
A notable highlight of the visit will be their joint attendance at the 6th edition of the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, where both Prime Ministers are expected to deliver keynote addresses, underscoring the importance of financial technology in their shared economic future.
