A shocking incident has left two farmers with severe injuries after a wild bear unexpectedly attacked them in Gurukulanagenahalli village, located in Karnataka’s Chickballapur district. The harrowing encounter took place on Tuesday morning while the men were diligently working in their agricultural field.
The aggression of the bear resulted in significant trauma for both individuals. One farmer sustained injuries to his face, while the other suffered damage to his hand. Following the attack, they were promptly transported to the government hospital in Chickballapur, where they are currently receiving necessary medical treatment.
Officials from the Forest Department have confirmed the location of the incident, noting that the particular farmland is situated adjacent to dense forest areas. This proximity explains the frequent presence of wildlife, including bears, in the vicinity. “This region is sparsely populated and directly borders the forest,” an official explained. “It’s quite common for bears to be seen in these areas, highlighting the ongoing challenge of human-wildlife interaction.”
