In a significant development for regional travelers, Indian Railway Board Chairman Satish Kumar has officially approved new halts for the Udhna-Berhampur Amrit Bharat train (No. 19021) at both Bobbili and Parvatipuram stations. This exciting announcement was shared by Parvatipuram TDP MLA Bonela Vijaya Chandra in a recent press release.
Set to commence its operations on September 27, this new train service is anticipated to be a game-changer for commuters across Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts. Beyond local benefits, it will also forge vital connectivity between numerous stations spanning the states of Odisha and Gujarat, streamlining travel for a broader demographic.
The approval comes after persistent efforts by local representatives. Parvatipuram MLA Bonela Vijaya Chandra, accompanied by Bobbili MLA Baby Nayana, recently met with Mr. Satish Kumar in New Delhi. During their meeting, they emphasized the overwhelming public demand for these stops and highlighted the substantial additional revenue potential for the railway system.
Chairman Kumar responded favorably to their proposal, promptly instructing officials to implement the necessary arrangements for these new halts. Furthermore, Mr. Vijaya Chandra took the opportunity to advocate for comprehensive modernization of the railway stations at Bobbili and Parvatipuram, along with the provision of enhanced passenger amenities to ensure a comfortable and efficient travel experience for all.
