A devastating incident unfolded on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR), turning a group’s temple visit into a tragedy. A 25-year-old Infosys employee was killed, and seven of her companions sustained injuries, after their SUV reportedly crashed due to excessive speed near Abdullapurmet on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
The victim, Rallakatwa Sowmya Reddy, was returning from the Sarala Maisamma Temple with her friends Nanda Kishore, Veerendra, Praneesh, Sagar, Arvind, Jhansi, and Shruti when the accident occurred.
Abdullapurmet Police Inspector Ashok Reddy detailed that the Innova Crysta, driven by Veerendra, entered the ORR at Exit 10, Bongloor, and was heading towards Ghatkesar. Around 7:30 p.m., the driver lost control of the vehicle, which then veered violently into the central divider. The impact caused the SUV to overturn, ultimately landing on the opposite side of the road, facing Pedamberpet.
All occupants suffered various bleeding injuries and were promptly transported to a private hospital in Hayathnagar for urgent medical attention. Tragically, Sowmya Reddy succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment after being transferred to another hospital in Uppal, where Nanda Kishore also received further care. Authorities have registered a formal case based on the complaint and are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
