A horrifying incident of road rage in Bengaluru has resulted in the death of a 24-year-old food delivery agent, Darshan. The tragedy unfolded on the night of October 25 when his scooter accidentally brushed against the rear-view mirror of a car. Despite Darshan’s apology, the occupants of the car, identified as Kalaripayattu trainer Manoj Kumar and his wife Aarati Sharma, became enraged.
Following the minor collision, Kumar executed a U-turn, pursued Darshan, and deliberately rammed his car into the scooter, causing fatal injuries. Darshan was declared dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital. Initial reports from his sister suggested a hit-and-run, but CCTV footage later revealed the deliberate nature of the act.
The investigation took a turn when the couple, attempting to cover their tracks, returned to the scene later that night wearing masks to retrieve parts of their damaged car. However, CCTV cameras captured their faces, leading to their identification and subsequent arrest. Both have confessed to their involvement in the fatal incident. Police have registered a murder case against Manoj Kumar and Aarati Sharma, who had been residing in Bengaluru for several years.
