A devastating accident unfolded in the early hours of Friday near Madhugiri Koppal Gate in Hunsur taluk, Karnataka. Two individuals lost their lives and many more sustained injuries when a private bus and a truck carrying cement collided head-on.
The tragedy occurred around 4:30 AM. The private bus was en route to Bengaluru from Kozhikode, while the truck was traveling from Mysuru towards Hunsur.
Eyewitnesses and initial reports indicate that the impact was so severe that the bus driver and cleaner were tragically thrown from their vehicle and subsequently crushed beneath the heavy cement bags spilling from the truck.
Emergency services rushed the injured to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru for immediate medical attention.
The accident led to significant disruptions on the busy Mysore-Hunsur Road. Authorities promptly deployed an earth mover to clear the scattered cement bags and restore normal traffic flow. Bilikeri police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
