Bagalagunte police are actively searching for a Bengaluru man accused of brutally murdering his father over a dispute concerning family property. Authorities have already arrested an individual named Praveen Reddy, who is believed to have assisted the primary suspect in committing the crime and subsequently attempting to make it appear as a suicide.
The fugitive suspect has been identified as Manoj, an unemployed individual who dropped out after completing Class 10. The victim, Manjunatha, was a carpenter residing in Dasarahalli.
Law enforcement officials confirm that Manoj remains at large, and a comprehensive search operation is underway to locate and apprehend him.
Initial investigations revealed that Manjunatha was murdered inside his home while his wife and younger son were out for a medical appointment. The truth behind his death only surfaced after a post-mortem examination conclusively determined that he had been strangled.
Manoj, the elder son, initially informed his mother that his father had tragically taken his own life. Reacting to this distressing news, his mother and younger brother quickly returned home and promptly alerted the police. Initially, officers had opened an investigation into an unnatural death.
Police sources indicate that Manoj harbored strong desires for a share of the family’s assets, specifically a residential building with two rented units. It is reported that his friends encouraged him, suggesting that his father was unlikely to willingly grant him his desired share, implying he should take drastic action.
Driven by this motive, Manoj conspired with his friend, Praveen Reddy, to commit the ultimate crime. The two men reportedly strangled Manjunatha when he was alone at home, meticulously staging the scene to mimic a suicide.
