Bengaluru was rocked by a shocking act of violence on Monday when a 28-year-old private company employee was brutally stabbed to death by her husband. The incident occurred in broad daylight at a bus stop within the Kamakshipalya police jurisdiction, with the victim’s young daughter tragically witnessing the horrific event.
The deceased has been identified as Rekha, originally from Shira and residing in Sunkadakatte. Her husband, Lokesh Lohithshwa, is currently the prime suspect and remains at large following the attack.
Initial police investigations have shed light on the couple’s troubled history. Rekha, who had previously separated from her first husband, moved to Bengaluru with her two minor daughters. She later married Lokesh and even helped him secure a driver’s position at her company. However, their relationship was plagued by frequent arguments, primarily stemming from Lokesh’s unfounded suspicions about Rekha having an affair at her workplace.
On the day of the tragedy, Lokesh, armed with a knife, tracked Rekha down. After a heated confrontation, he mercilessly stabbed her multiple times before fleeing the scene. Rekha sustained approximately eleven stab wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Kamakshipalya police have registered a murder case and have intensified their efforts to apprehend Lokesh Lohithshwa, appealing to the public for any information that could lead to his arrest.
