A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Yadrami town, Kalaburagi district, early Monday morning when a section of a house wall crumbled under relentless heavy rainfall. The tragic collapse resulted in the death of a 16-year-old girl and left her four younger siblings with serious injuries.
The young victim was identified as Sania Tamboli. Her injured siblings, Mehboob, Nishaad, Ayesha, and Ramzan Bi, were quickly identified and are now receiving medical attention.
All four children, who were trapped beneath the debris, were successfully rescued and are currently undergoing treatment for their injuries.
However, the community is grappling with profound grief and anger, as residents claim that Sania, despite being severely injured, tragically succumbed to her wounds due to a critical lack of timely medical assistance. They pointed to the alleged absence of qualified doctors at the local taluk hospital when the family desperately sought help.
Eyewitness accounts from the hospital corroborate these allegations, suggesting that Sania’s life might have been saved had prompt medical care and a doctor been available.
In response to this devastating loss and perceived negligence, local residents organized a protest, passionately demanding substantial compensation of ₹25 lakh for Sania’s grieving family and accountability for the lapses in medical services.
