A deeply disturbing incident has shaken Dugunur camp in Yadgir taluk. On Thursday, a father allegedly attacked his three children with a sickle, resulting in the deaths of two and critical injuries to the third. This tragic act reportedly stemmed from the father’s suspicions about his wife’s fidelity.
Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar identified the deceased children as four-year-old Saanvi and two-and-a-half-year-old Bhargav. The third child, eight-year-old Hemant, sustained severe injuries and has been admitted to Gulbarga Institute of Medical Science in Kalaburagi, where his condition remains critical.
Yadgir Rural Police promptly responded to the scene and apprehended the accused, Sharanappa Hanumanth Dugunur. An ongoing investigation aims to uncover further details surrounding the horrific event.
According to Superintendent Shankar, Sharanappa harbored suspicions that his wife, Jayasri, was involved in an illicit relationship and that all three children were born from this alleged affair. Driven by these grave doubts, he reportedly decided to end their lives, using a sickle in the attack. Tragically, two of the children died instantly.
