Devastating heavy rainfall on the night of October 29, 2025, has tragically claimed two lives and left one woman missing across Jangaon and Warangal districts.
Man Rescued, Woman Still Missing in Jangaon Floodwaters
In a harrowing incident near Thimmampet village in Jangaon district’s Station Ghanpur mandal, a young couple on a motorcycle was overwhelmed by surging floodwaters. While Barigala Siva Kumar bravely held onto a tree branch and survived, his companion, Bakka Sravya, has unfortunately been reported missing. Authorities have launched extensive search and rescue efforts to locate her.
Tragic Fatalities in Hanamkonda and Inavole
The relentless downpour led to another tragedy in Hanamkonda, where Appani Nagendram, a private employee from Kothapalli, lost his life after an accidental fall into a channel constructed to divert floodwaters. In a separate incident, 60-year-old G. Suramma died in Kondaparthy village, Inavole mandal, after a wall collapsed on her.
Amidst the widespread chaos, police and dedicated rescue teams worked diligently to evacuate passengers from Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) buses. These vehicles had become stranded in deep floodwaters at Upparapalli in Wardhannapet on the morning of October 30, and at Raghunathpalli along the Warangal–Hyderabad highway the previous night, highlighting the severe disruption caused by the inclement weather.
