KASARAGOD: A heartbreaking incident unfolded in the early hours of Friday at Chengala Fourth Mile in Kasaragod, Kerala, where a Senior Civil Police Officer (CPO) tragically lost his life. The officer was killed when a fast-moving tipper lorry collided violently with the car he was traveling in.
The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Sajeesh, a valued member of the DANSAF squad operating under the Bekal Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP). Adding to the tragedy, another officer, Subhash Chandran, who was in the vehicle with Sajeesh, suffered injuries in the brutal crash.
Authorities reported that the devastating accident took place around 2:45 a.m. as the officers were navigating an underpass. Both officers were on active duty at the time, en route in a private vehicle to investigate a specific case.
Sadly, Sajeesh’s injuries were fatal, and he passed away at the scene. His injured colleague, Subhash Chandran, was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Sajeesh’s body has since been moved to the mortuary at Kasaragod General Hospital.
