A devastating incident unfolded during a kabaddi match in Chhattisgarh’s Kondagaon district on Saturday night, resulting in the electrocution deaths of three people and burn injuries to three others. Police reported that the tragedy occurred in Ravaswahi village, part of the Baderajpur development block, while the game was in progress.
According to officials, a fierce storm unexpectedly swept through the area. During the high winds, an 11-kV power line detached and made contact with an iron pole supporting a tent erected for spectators. This sudden electrical surge caused several people under the tent to suffer severe electric shocks.
Local villagers quickly responded, rushing six affected individuals to a hospital in Vishrampuri. Tragically, three of them were pronounced dead upon arrival. The remaining three injured individuals, two of whom were in critical condition, have since been transferred to a more advanced medical facility for specialized treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Satish Netam, who was both a player and among the spectators, along with Shyamlal Netam and Sunil Shori, residents of nearby villages. Authorities have confirmed that a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking accident is currently underway.
