A 25-year-old man tragically lost his life, and his 30-year-old brother sustained significant injuries, after they were allegedly pushed from a moving train by a co-passenger. The horrifying incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday near the Ghatkesar railway station.
The victims have been identified as Harsh Chandwani, who succumbed to multiple injuries, and Ajay Ramchandra Chandwani, both residents of Bairagarh Huzoor in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Ajay is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries at Gandhi Hospital.
The harrowing event took place around 12:50 a.m. on October 7. Passengers aboard the Dakshin Express (Train No. 12721), traveling from Secunderabad to Kazipet, quickly pulled the alarm chain after witnessing the attack, bringing the train to an immediate halt.
RPF Head Constable M. Laxmipathy, who was on escort duty with Constable S. K. Saroj, reported that they rushed to the third general coach upon the train’s stop. There, fellow passengers had already detained a man believed to have kicked the two brothers, who were seated near the coach door, causing them to fall from the speeding train.
The accused was promptly deboarded and handed over to the Secunderabad railway police. Officials noted that the individual has refused to disclose his identity and appeared to be in a disturbed mental state, carrying no identification documents. A case has been officially registered, and police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
