In a heart-wrenching event in Sir M Vishweshwaraiah Layout, two brothers, 8-year-old Jaganadhan S and his 6-year-old sibling Sanjay S, tragically drowned near a BBMP-maintained lake on Thursday evening. The young students, who attended a private school in Ullala Upanagar, are suspected to have visited the lake after missing their scheduled tuition session.

The police investigation indicates the drowning likely occurred between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm, with the discovery of the tragedy taking place around 9:00 pm, according to a report.
The boys’ father, a mason, had dropped them at school earlier that day. Their mother, returning from work around 8:15 pm, found the children missing. Upon the father’s arrival home, the parents began a frantic search, prompted by information from the tuition teacher that their sons had been absent for four days. A friend of Jaganadhan revealed he had been playing with the brothers near the lake but had left earlier. This led the distressed parents to the lake, where they tragically found Jaganadhan’s body floating. He was taken to a private hospital and then referred to Rajarajeshwari Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. With the help of locals, Sanjay’s body was also recovered and he, too, was declared dead at the hospital.
Authorities have registered a case and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this deeply unfortunate incident.
