Tirupati’s district police department swiftly mobilized after the city became one of several locations nationwide to receive alarming bomb threat emails targeting political figures. These threats prompted an immediate and decisive response from local law enforcement.
In a robust precautionary measure, police teams, equipped with advanced hand-held metal detectors and accompanied by specialized dog squads, thoroughly swept critical public areas. These extensive searches covered the busy railway station, the central bus terminal, the revered Sri Govindarajaswamy temple, and other significant points of interest throughout the city on Friday.
Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu issued a reassuring yet cautious statement, emphasizing that these widespread operations were purely preventative to ensure public safety. He strongly advised the community to disregard any unverified rumors and avoid sharing speculative content on social media, stressing the importance of relying only on official information.
