Kodikunnil Suresh, MP, has announced that the Thrippakudam railway overbridge (ROB) near Veeyapuram is expected to be finished within ten months. This vital infrastructure project is being fully funded by the Railways, highlighting a significant investment in regional development.
During a recent site visit on Wednesday, the Member of Parliament personally assessed the construction progress and engaged in productive discussions with key officials from the Kerala Rail Development Corporation Limited (KRDCL), the agency overseeing the project, and the involved contractors.
Mr. Suresh confirmed that essential preliminary work, including thorough test piling and comprehensive load testing for the ₹33.39 crore bridge, has already been successfully completed. He further elaborated that the piling work is set to commence shortly, and importantly, the overbridge design incorporates convenient service roads on both sides to enhance local accessibility.
Upon its completion, the Thrippakudam overbridge is anticipated to deliver a lasting solution to the persistent traffic congestion plaguing the Haripad–Thiruvalla road. This development promises to be a substantial boon for both local residents and the countless commuters who use this crucial route, ensuring smoother and faster travel.
