Digital media powerhouse, The Wire, has been recognized with the prestigious 5th N. Rajesh Memorial Media Award. This esteemed honor, established by the Madhyamam Journalists’ Union (MJU), pays tribute to the enduring legacy of N. Rajesh, a respected veteran journalist and former leader of the Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ).
The award, which includes a cash prize of ₹25,000 and a commemorative plaque, is scheduled to be presented to M.K. Venu, a distinguished founding editor of The Wire. The ceremony will take place in Kozhikode on October 21st. According to MJU officials, The Wire was unanimously selected for its remarkable dedication to fearless and impactful investigative journalism.
Adding to the significance of the event, renowned poet and writer P.N. Gopikrishnan will deliver the N. Rajesh memorial lecture. His address will delve into ‘The Indian media landscape: Evolution and the present,’ offering valuable insights into the dynamic state of journalism today.
