In a heartfelt tribute to a prominent figure in Telangana politics, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy officially declared on Sunday that the Sriramsagar Project-II (SRSP-II) will be renamed after the late former minister, Ramreddy Damodar Reddy. This significant decision acknowledges Reddy’s immeasurable contributions to the progress and development of the Nalgonda district. The Chief Minister, speaking at a memorial event for Ramreddy Damodar Reddy in Tungaturthi, confirmed that an official Government Order (GO) to formalize this renaming would be issued within a swift 24-hour period.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy warmly praised the late leader, affectionately known as “Damanna,” highlighting his pivotal role in ensuring that Godavari river waters reached the parched lands of Nalgonda district. “It is solely due to Damanna’s unwavering dedication and tireless efforts that the Godavari waters now flow through Nalgonda,” remarked the Chief Minister. He further reminisced about Damodar Reddy’s instrumental work in strengthening the Congress party within Nalgonda and his relentless commitment to improving the lives of the people in the Tungaturthi constituency. “He was far more than just a political leader; he was a true visionary who devoted his entire life to selfless public service,” Mr. Revanth Reddy concluded.
