HYDERABAD: The political atmosphere in Telangana is heating up as the Jubilee Hills by-election draws near. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has directly confronted BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, challenging not only the validity of Rao’s accusations against him but also casting doubt on his long-term presence in India ahead of the upcoming general elections.
During a public address in his Paleru constituency on Thursday, Minister Reddy reflected on his own electoral history. He highlighted that even former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, KTR’s father, had attempted on three occasions to prevent his victory in Paleru, but ultimately failed. “If your father couldn’t stop me, how do you expect to? You are merely a political beginner,” Reddy asserted, directly questioning KTR’s political prowess.
Furthermore, Minister Ponguleti speculated on KTR’s future in the country. He provocatively stated, “In the next three and a half years, by the time the next General Elections arrive, the people of Telangana will determine your political destiny. The question is, will you still be in India, or will you be packing your bags for America? That is the decision they are prepared to make.”
In a final piece of advice, Mr. Ponguleti urged KTR to first demonstrate the BRS party’s strength and electoral viability in the immediate Jubilee Hills by-elections before making any grand political claims about the future.
